Endometriosis & pelvic pain
Diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning for endometriosis, adenomyosis and chronic pelvic pain.
I am Dr Giorgia Poppi, a medical doctor specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. My main areas of focus are endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, vulvodynia and advanced (level II) gynaecological ultrasound.
"Every woman deserves to be heard and taken seriously, especially when she talks about her pain."

I graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan and completed my specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Verona. I continued my training at national and international centres, earning an international master's degree in level II gynaecological ultrasound focused on endometriosis.
I currently work as a Consultant in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit of Ospedali Riuniti Padova Sud (ULSS 6 Euganea), in both clinical and surgical practice, with a particular focus on endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.
My approach is built on empathy, listening and personalised care: from prevention and contraception to pregnancy and menopause, we will find the right path for you together.
Alongside general obstetrics and gynaecology, I have specialised in areas where an accurate diagnosis makes all the difference.
Diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning for endometriosis, adenomyosis and chronic pelvic pain.
In-depth transvaginal ultrasound to map endometriosis according to international protocols.
Assessment of persistent vulvar pain and burning, with a careful, non-judgemental approach.
Laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy in hospital.
Outpatient services available at the clinics where I practise.
Routine check-ups, menstrual problems, contraception, menopause and prevention.
Dedicated consultation with a detailed symptom history and targeted ultrasound.
Advanced gynaecological ultrasound for endometriosis, adenomyosis and pelvic conditions.
Antenatal care, from the first visit to follow-up check-ups.
Closer examination of the cervix after an abnormal smear or HPV test.
Assessment of the uterine cavity: polyps, fibroids, abnormal bleeding, infertility.
Targeted cervical, endometrial or vulvar biopsies for an accurate diagnosis.
Cervical cancer screening.
Insertion and removal of copper or hormonal coils.
Availability of individual services may vary between clinics: please check when booking.
Endometriosis affects around one in ten women of reproductive age, yet it is often recognised only after years. A dedicated consultation and an ultrasound performed by an experienced specialist can lead to an earlier diagnosis.
Burning, pain or discomfort in the vulvar area lasting for months, often during intercourse or even when sitting, should not be ignored: it can be diagnosed and treated.

For a consultation and ultrasound, usually yes. A smear test is best done away from your period. If in doubt, ask the clinic when booking.
It is an in-depth transvaginal ultrasound performed by a gynaecologist with specific training, following international protocols. It is particularly useful to detect and map endometriosis and adenomyosis and to plan any treatment or surgery.
Period pain that limits your daily activities or is not relieved by common painkillers always deserves an assessment. It may be caused by endometriosis or by other conditions: a dedicated consultation helps clarify this.
It is vulvar pain or burning lasting at least three months without an obvious cause such as an infection. It is a real and common condition that can be diagnosed and treated with a personalised plan.
